Searching for ways to reduce germs but not sure where to begin? You’re in luck! At Total Clean, our inventory of pressure washers in the Central Valley, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix can do the trick. Follow these tips to reduce germs.
Step One: Make a Plan
Make a plan for reducing germs by taking stock of your cleaning supplies and equipment, identifying the surfaces and equipment you need to clean and assessing the job at hand. We are happy to discuss the best solutions for your needs, including pressure washers and cleaning chemicals.
Step Two: Find the Optimal Cleaning Pressure
Every job is different, and they all have varying requirements when it comes to pressure. The right pressure for the job depends on a wide range of factors. Consider how much dirt you need to remove, other substances on the surface (like grease or oil) and how much pressure is safe to use on the surface before causing damages.
Step Three: Find the Optimal Temperature
It is true that hotter water kills more germs and bacteria, but setting the temperature on your pressure washer too high can damage the surface or object you are cleaning. Find the sweet spot, which for most surfaces is between 185 and 212 degrees F.
Step Four: Use the Right Detergent
Sometimes, hot water alone can do the trick and you won’t need any additional cleaners or detergents. If you have a more challenging job, cleaners may be necessary. If you are using a detergent solution, take caution with the runoff created. Always check the instructions on your detergent to find the ideal dwell time before pressure washing.
Step Five: Rinse and Disinfect
After you’ve applied detergent and let it sit for the appropriate amount of time, use your hot water pressure washer to remove it. Finally, add disinfectant to get the full benefit.
